Funeral services for Hazel Clara Leggette Chapman, age 91, of Lake Providence, Louisiana will be 2PM, Monday, March 11, 2013 at the First Baptist Church of Lake Providence with Rev. Mitch Minson officiating. Interment will be in the Providence Memorial Cemetery in Lake Providence. Services are under the direction of Cox Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Sunday from 5PM - 8PM at Cox Funeral Home of Lake Providence.

Hazel was the owner of Chapman's Drugs Store. She loved her family, her drugstore, her customers and her home. She was known for her excellent cooking. When her health was good, she loved working in her yard.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lake Providence, La.

She is preceded in death by her husband, who she met in 1940 at Providence Drug store, Lloyd Chapman Sr.; son, Lloyd Chapman Jr.; parents, Will Leggette and Matilda Toney Leggette; sisters, Ruby Whatley, Mary Richardson, Tiny Simmons, Estelle Winstead; brothers, William Leggette, Elbert Leggette, Willie Leggette.

Hazel is survived by her son, William Edward Chapman of Lake Providence, Louisiana; daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Joe Yocom of Ridgeland, Mississippi; three grandchildren, Michael Chapman of Pearl, Mississippi, Mary Frances Bush of Cathlamet, Washington, Brian Chapman of Houston, Texas; step granddaughter, Morgan Yocom of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; three great-grandchildren, Jacob Bush of Boise, Idaho, Aaron Bush of Cathlamet, Washington, Benjamin Bush of Cathlamet, Washington; step-granddaughter, Gavie Stevens of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; four sisters, Virginia House of Tallulah, Louisiana, Annie Lough of Lakewood, California, Barbara Leggette of Pearl, Mississippi; brother, James Leggette of Crystal Springs, Mississippi and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Winstead, Tim Winstead, Cody Miles, John Edward Baker, Ryan Baker, Tandon Baker.

The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. John Pieklik, Dr. Dale Reed, Shady Lake Nursing Home, Premier Hospice, East Carroll Parish Hospital, East Carroll Parish Ambulance Service, Amy Hale, Dr. Don Bailey, Monica Newton, and Nealie Sasser.
